Samsung has quietly listed slightly upgraded version of the Galaxy Mega 5.8, the Galaxy Mega Plus, on its official site in China.
The Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus comes with a 5.8-inch TFT screen with a qHD (540×960 pixels) resolution and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz UI on top, though no word on the version The new Galaxy Mega Plus dumps the dual-core chip for a more powerful quad-core one, clocked at 1.2GHz.There is no mention of the RAM capacity. The phone comes with 8GB of built-in storage, which is expandable via microSD card. Much like Galaxy Mega 5.8, Galaxy Mega Plus supports dual-SIM functionality with dual standby.
Galaxy Mega Plus sports an 8-megapixel rear camera, as well as a 1.9-megapixel front facing camera. The phablet is backed by a 2600mAh battery. The Galaxy Mega Plus includes Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GLONASS, GPS and 3G connectivity. It comes with usual samsung goodies made for big screen phones like Multi Window, Popup Play, Group Play, Story Album, S Translator and more.
There is no word yet on the pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy Mega Plus. The company is yet to reveal plans to launch the Galaxy Mega Plus in more markets.
