The 44th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries is scheduled to take place on June 24. The telecommunications giant will make some significant announcements during this year’s event, which will take place on June 24.
During the event, the telecom giant is expected to make major announcements, including the release of the Jio Book laptop, the Jio Phone with 5G connectivity, and other products.
Earlier this month, Reliance Jio began conducting 5G field testing in Mumbai, in a bid to beat competitor Bharti Airtel in the race to be the first to launch mobile technology in the country.
The Reliance Jio launched 5G testing in Mumbai, utilizing equipment that was manufactured in India. In a statement, the telecommunications company stated that it is in discussions with Nokia, Samsung, and Ericsson about conducting 5 G testing in additional locations. Interestingly, Reliance Jio has registered for 5G trials in several cities, including Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, and Gujarat.
Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone Idea were granted 5G trial spectrum in the 700 megahertz (MHz), 3.2-3.6 gigahertz (GHz), and 24.25-28.5 gigahertz (GHz) bands by the Department of Telecommunications in May, with the intention of developing India-specific utilization.
According to a source, Jio will conduct its trials using a standalone 5G architecture, which would entail evaluating the core and radio networks for peak speed, latency, and data loads. The requirements of the spectrum license include that testing in other cities must begin immediately and be completed within six months of the grant of the license.
In cooperation with Google, Reliance Jio is likely to debut its much-anticipated and most inexpensive smartphone in the near future. Dixon Technologies, UTL Neolyncs, Flextronics Technologies, and Wingtech Mobiles are among the companies that are currently testing the forthcoming smartphone in their own manufacturing facilities. The smartphone has already progressed past the point of research and development.
Reliance Jio is likely to introduce a smartphone before the Christmas season, owing to the strong demand for new products that occurs around this time of year. Jio and Google are rumored to be working on 5G devices, as well as a plan to offer smartphones under Rs. 5,000. “Jio wants to sell the gadget for less than Rs 5,000,” says the source. When we increase the volume of sales, we want the product to be priced in the region of Rs 2,500-3,000,” a business official stated.
It is also possible that the JioBook, a low-cost laptop from the firm, may be released. This laptop would be targeted towards users with limited financial resources.
According to the leak, the JioBook would have a display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. Moreover, it shows that the laptop may be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC.
2GB/4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB/64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage are both options for the laptop’s configuration.
The JioBook is likely to ship with JioOS, which is an Android-based operating system. As previously reported, the rumored laptop is being created in conjunction with Bluebank Communication Technology. Bluebank Communication Technology is an engineering company in China that specializes in the creation of third-party mobile devices and software for the mobile industry.
