Now that the dates for Amazon Great Indian Festival 2021 have been confirmed, the festive season sale will begin on October 4. The beginning of this year’s Great Indian Festival sale was announced during a virtual news conference held on Friday, September 24 by Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer.
This year, the online sale will be open for the whole month of festivals around the country, just like it was in 2017. Prime members will get first access to the offers and discounts that will be available during the event. Flipkart, an Amazon competitor, said earlier this week that it will conduct its Big Billion Days 2021 sale beginning on October 7.
A specific portal has been developed by Amazon to entice shoppers during the Great Indian Festival Sale, which has discounts on a variety of mobile phone models and accessories, electronic gadgets such as smartwatches, tablets, and laptops, as well as household equipment, such as smart TVs.
Amazon also claims to be offering its Echo, Fire TV, and Kindle devices at the lowest prices they’ve offered all year during the sale. Additional Alexa smart home combination deals will be made available to grow the user base of the voice assistant throughout the country.
In addition to new product releases from companies such as Apple, Asus, Fossil, HP, Lenovo, OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, and Xiaomi, there will be over 1,000 new bargains, discounts, and offers to take advantage of. Amazon stated in a statement that new products would be released in conjunction with Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox.
Customers who use Amazon Pay to pay their energy bills, buy tickets, and send money will be able to save up to Rs. 5,000 during the Great Indian Festival sale, according to the company.
Additionally, Amazon has collaborated with HDFC Bank to provide a 10 percent immediate discount to consumers who make purchases during the Great Indian Festival sale using HDFC Bank debit and credit cards, as well as EMI transactions.
Customers who have signed up for Amazon Prime membership will get first access to the deal during the Great Indian Festival. In addition, there will be extra cashback incentives, longer no-cost EMI choices, and extended warranties – all of which will be accessible during special Prime Fridays.
Over a press briefing, Amazon India Vice President Manish Tiwary stated that more than 78 percent of its sellers in the country are likely to reach out to new consumers during the Christmas season, citing a poll done by market measurement firm Nielsen. He went on to say that as many as 71 percent of the vendors who responded to the poll were looking forward to raising their sales over the season.
Amazon has recently expanded its language support to include Bengali and Marathi, to assist merchants in reaching new clients. These languages will be added to the current languages of Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, and Telugu, as well as other regional languages. It is also planning to enhance its voice shopping experience soon by incorporating Hindi support into the mix.
Tiwary further stated that during the previous 15–18 months, Amazon has seen a significant increase in the number of consumers who have moved online, with 65 percent of customer orders and over 85 percent of new customers on Amazon. incoming from smaller towns and tier two cities, respectively. He did not, however, offer an exact number of new clients who had joined the company.
While Flipkart is conducting its Big Billion Days sale as a six-day event this year, Amazon is organizing the Great Indian Festival as a month-long event in 2021. This might be comparable to how the firm executed numerous selling rounds in the previous year.
In Tiwary’s opinion, “If you look at how customers are celebrating this holiday season, it’s not just about Diwali; it starts with Dussehra, Navratri, and continues throughout the month,” he said. “In tune with that, the Great Indian Event will also be a month-long festival,” he said. In other words, buyers can take part in a month-long celebration while taking advantage of amazing everyday prices from some of the greatest Indian and worldwide brands, as well as a wide variety from our small sellers.
