Amazon said on Friday that it has combined two of its food stores, Fresh and Pantry, into a single platform known as Amazon Fresh. Fresh and Pantry are two of Amazon’s grocery businesses. In its most basic form, this is a supermarket platform that can be used to purchase veggies in addition to other grocery goods. The Amazon Fresh shop officially opened its doors on November 12th.
The Amazon Fresh service will allow customers in 300 locations to place orders for fresh vegetables and groceries. It had been intended for the e-commerce site to connect the two systems since at least February. The shop, on the other hand, only went up in November. Customers will be able to purchase essential things such as veggies and groceries at a subsidised rate through the new Amazon platform, according to the company.
“In February of this year, we announced the integration of the Pantry store into Fresh in certain locations,” said Siddharth Nambiar, director, category management, Amazon India. Today, we finalised the merging of both businesses into a single online store known as Amazon Fresh, which is available in more than 300 locations across India. Exceptional value discounts, a broad selection of items, and a variety of delivery choices will continue to be available to customers.”
Nambiar indicated that, as a result of the new launch, all things would be shipped in a single easy shipment that will arrive between 1-3 days depending on the customer’s geographic region.
“Thanks to this launch, we have been able to streamline the grocery shopping experience through the use of our dedicated Amazon Fresh app-in-app experience, and we are well-positioned to provide many more features and advancements in the coming months.” “In addition to providing significant discounts, Amazon Fresh will lower obstacles to food purchasing online,” he continued.
Nambiar claimed that, following the epidemic, the vast majority of people in towns such as Bhubaneshwar, Patna, and Lucknow had turned to internet food shopping for their needs.
Users may expect their orders to be delivered within two hours of placing them. In August of this year, a prototype version of the new platform was launched in Bengaluru. Throughout the day, from 6 a.m. to midnight, all clients will have convenient 2-hour delivery slots, with free delivery on purchases above Rs 600. Orders less than Rs 600 will be charged a Rs 29 shipping cost in addition to the product price.
